Retained PR and media relations.
Sustained press coverage in design media isn’t built through campaigns, it’s built through consistent, considered presence over months, by understanding what journalists are working on, what they need from a source, and when to speak rather than when to pitch. Most brands treat PR as a series of announcements, but the ones who build genuine authority treat it as an ongoing conversation with the people who shape how their sector is understood.
That’s what retained PR support does, and why it requires the right foundations to be in place before it begins. I work on your PR directly: developing press strategy, pitching journalists, securing coverage, and positioning your founder for thought leadership. We work together over a minimum of six months, but I’m the one building media relationships, sending pitches, and making things happen.
This is for established brands ready to invest properly in building visibility. If you’re still testing product-market fit or working with startup budgets, this isn’t the right approach yet. But if you’re ready for sustained strategic PR support from someone who understands design and interiors media intimately, this is how we work together.
“The PR campaign Kate developed for our Softshell launch delivered strong, relevant coverage across publications that genuinely mattered to the business. From Dezeen and Designboom to specialist hospitality titles such as Sleeper Magazine, the quality of the placements translated directly into qualified enquiries and helped position Softshell confidently in the international market.”

All partnerships run on a six-month minimum commitment, reflecting the time genuine PR results require. We’ll discuss your specific needs in our initial conversation and scope the right level.
This is for you if:
You need someone who understands complex ideas.
Sustainability credentials, neuroscience-backed design, material innovation, spatial thinking — generic PR consultants won’t understand these well enough to position them properly. You need someone who can translate what’s genuinely interesting about your practice into language that lands with design editors.
You need someone actively doing PR, not just advising.
You don’t have time or internal capacity to pitch journalists yourself. You need consistent, professional execution from someone who lives and breathes design media.
You’re ready to commit to sustained visibility.
A six-month minimum and proper investment. You understand that meaningful press coverage takes consistent effort over time, not occasional campaigns when you remember to do PR.
Not sure the foundations are there yet?
If you struggle to articulate what makes you different, Strategic Foundations is the right starting point before PR execution begins.
What changes?
Coverage in publications that matter.
Top-tier design press, trade publications, podcasts and speaking opportunities that build authority with the people who influence your sector and your customers.
Positioned as a category authority, not just another design brand.
Recognised expertise in your specific area, opening doors to commercial partnerships, speaking invitations, and opportunities beyond direct press coverage.
Strategic clarity and momentum.
A consistent communications rhythm that supports product launches and business growth — without feeling reactive or chaotic every time something needs announcing.
Next step.
I work with a handful of clients at any time, which means I’m selective about partnerships. If you’re ready to build sustained visibility and can commit to at least six months of strategic PR work, let’s have a conversation about whether we’re the right fit.
